What is the Universal Mat made of?
Ground Therapy® products serve to bring the earth’s energy indoors to help your body recover, heal and thrive. We understand how important it is to use the safest materials possible while creating a material that is highly conductive, durable, and free of harsh chemicals. Our patented conductive carbon leatherette used in products has been third party tested to be free of Azo dyes, Phthalates, and lead.
The thin black top conductive layer is the layer that your body makes contact with. It is made of PU (Polyurethane) resin. Leather look-alike items made with polyurethane (PU) are very consumer friendly and safe unlike older PVC leathers. Our PU Leather is vinyl free, and platelet free.
The thin black layer of PU leather is infused with conductive carbon pigment for the conductive top layer. Carbon is the 2nd most abundant element in the human body after oxygen. The carbon is what conducts the earths energy. It also makes the leather flame resistant naturally without the use of harsh flame resistant chemicals. The PU Leather would not be conductive without the addition of carbon.
The bottom or non- conductive layer is made of TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) closed cell foam. This is among the safest foam used. It is latex and PVC free. This is the same foam used in footwear, and even in children’s foam toys.

How To Wash and Care For Your Ground Therapy® Mat
To clean the mat, simply wipe down the mat using a non corrosive cleaner. Do not use chlorine bleach or liquid fabric softener, or any detergent containing bleach or fabric softener, chemicals that can ruin the conductivity of the mat. Do not apply lotion, creams, or body oil to your skin before touching the mat. These can oxidize and damage conductivity. Air dry the mat.

Please follow the directions included in each Ground Therapy® Kit. Here are general directions for setting up your Ground Therapy® product:
STEP 1: Test your wall outlet with the included Outlet Checker to ensure it's grounded.
GROUNDED = Two amber lights illuminated. You are ready to move on to step 2.
NOT GROUNDED = Any other light combination. If this is the case, try testing other outlets. If none of them are grounded, then you will need to purchase a Ground Rod to use with your product.
STEP 2: Push the included Safety Adapter into your grounded wall outlet or into the surge protector that's plugged into the grounded wall outlet.
STEP 3: Firmly push one end of the Coil Cord into the Safety Adapter. Place the Ground Therapy® product where you'd like to use it. Snap the other end of the Coil Cord onto the connector tab of the Ground Therapy® product.
STEP 4: For instant grounding, make direct skin contact with the Ground Therapy® product. If you prefer a thin layer of material between your skin and the Ground Therapy® product, you'll still be grounded once your sweat creates channels for Earth's electrons to pass through.

Easy Cleaning
Simply clean with a little soap and water on a cloth, then wipe clean with plain water and allow to dry naturally. The Earthing® Universal Mat should be wiped down regularly to ensure good conductivity and to avoid build up of skin oils.
Do:
- Wipe down the Mattress Cover using a non-corrosive cleaner like soap and water on a damp sponge.
- Air dry before using it again.
Do Not:
- Use bleach, chlorine, or harsh chemicals to clean the Universal Mat.
- Do not apply lotion, creams, or body oil to your skin before touching the Universal Mat as these can oxidize and damage conductivity over time.
